Interior insights – Q&A with Charlested
In our latest Interior insights, we caught up with the team behind Charlested, interior suppliers and styling specialists to chat interiors trends, challenges, inspiration and of course styling tips!
Q: Tell us about your current challenges & solutions
A: Whilst supply of goods was causing issues for many months, this is definitely showing signs of easing. However, rising costs of shipping, fuel and packaging are very evident and causing problems with our margins
Q: What current interior trends are you seeing?
A: Stripped back wood, natural finishes are definitely still trending amongst suppliers and at trade shows
Q: Could you give us your top styling tips?
A: Don’t over think your styling. If it feels like an effort start really simple with the main pieces but go with your gut instincts as this will reflect the style you like. Don’t be too driven by other people’s tastes and style, try and be true to your own image of what you would like to achieve
Q: How have you clients’ needs changed in recent months/years?
A: Customers are definitely more careful about spending money the last few months. They are taking much longer to make decisions about big ticket items and their expectations to receive discounts are much higher which is a challenge in itself
Q: What inspired the team at CT?
A: Teamwork! Working in a smaller team your more inspired to work together to give the best possible service you can, feeling your contribution is very valued and making a seamless process for everyone involved. We take pride in getting orders out in a timely manner for customers and delivering excellent customer service. Each person on the team is a truly valued member and has helped to develop and grow the business to achieve amazing things!
Q: What are you working on next, any big changes for the team?
A: We have lots of excitement planned for the next 12 months. We are working with a new videographer to create new film content as well as growing the styling side of the business which has really taken off with our distance styling service available on the website. We are currently on the lookout for another customer service apprentice as Summer has graduated and now working for us full time! We’ve made 3 warehouse moves in 2 years so the team are very happy to be settled in our new bigger space where storage is plentiful and the office space is being kitted out to reflect the Charlested brand!
